About Me

My name is Laura, aka Momma Brown–a moniker my students and few colleagues gave me a few years back.  I am not very complicated.  I write from the perspective of a teacher, mother, wife, and small business owner.

I am new to publishing my writing. It is scary.  I feel vulnerable, but I guess after age 40, some people just get brave, or stupid.    Regardless of my bravery or stupidity, I feel compelled to tell my story.  If you decide to follow me, I truly appreciate it.

  1. Laura, thank you so much for this. I had heard about the show and felt I should watch it, all while I really didn’t want to. So, your account saved me. Except I DO wonder what happened when people DID text as urged to.

One small “however”: three times, you used “peaked” for “piqued,” which metaphorically stabbed this retired editor in the eye. I know I’m annoying, but I can’t help myself. 🙂

I would have written this privately if I had your email address. Please delete my comment after you see it.
